Blogging Hiatus

It has been crazy here at the Hansen house. We have been crazy busy with the completion approaching of our house and I got a job teaching music at the elementary school. A little extra money is nice.
This is Avery in his first baseball game. Wes and Josh are the coaches and our team did great. Avery was so excited to play.

The front of the house

So many have been asking about the status of our house. Well, here it is. This last month of construction has been so busy. That is why I have not posted in a while.

This is before the color coat of the stucco.

Josh and Michelle's Bedroom

This is a picture of the tray ceiling in our bedroom.

The Lanundy Room

This is a view of the laundry room. This picture does not do it justice. The contractors call it the laundromat. It is set up to have two washers and two dryers because I figured with four kids, I do about 30 loads of laundry a week.

Front door view

This is a view from the front door. When I had Wes design the house I told him that I wanted to be able to stand at the front door and look all the way to the back door. It is called a double shotgun.

The Piano Room

This archway was an after-thought. It leads into the piano room.

The place where Santa comes down....

Josh thought I was crazy when I insisted on a fire place so the Hansen's could have a place for Santa to come down. So the rock work is half done here.

My Haven

This is my favorite room in the whole house. The counter tops are not on yet but the granite guys were there to measure yesterday.

Happy Happy Birthday Avery Dear

Well the little stinker is 7 and he wanted a paintball gun. So we got him an airsoft gun. That was dangerous enough for him. He has already been shooting at windows and people.

Lilly on the tramp

I couldnt help but take a picture of her static hair on the tramp. She loves it outside.

The first window

Here are the guys with the first window going in. There was also an additional 6-7 guys there putting the A/C ducting in. That was cool to see.

Lilly's little mishap

For those of you who do not know. last week at church, Lilly fell when she was walking toward a piano bench. Luckily she did not hit her head but unluckily all of the force of the fall was directed on her teeth. I scooped her up and took her out of the room and looked down to examine her and, well, lets just say it wasn't pretty. Lots of blood and tears from her and I. She knocked two teeth out on top. She got a quick blessing and Gaylene and I were off to the emergency room. Josh missed all the fun, he was working a double. The emergency room sent her to a dentist that was on call(loved him). The dentist basically shoved the teeth back into place and bonded them together. They have stayed all week so it looks good. I must say that I have great friends who were here for me. Megan took over when I was overwhelmed right after it happened(and many other things), Lisa came and got my older kids, the next day, and Gaylene was the rock as she always is in scary situations. Our family is really blessed.

Progress while we were on vacation.....

Our house is coming along. I cant believe all the decisions that have to be made. But it is fun. Josh and I are grateful everyday for what we have.

Back View

Our wondeful builders got a lot done while we were in Disneyland. If anyone needs a builder, these are the guys you have to use. Great price, fast, and soooo nice. We love them!!!

The happiest place on earth

I love Disneyland and loved the fact that we kept it a secret from the kids that we were going. So Sunday after church we threw the kids in the Surburban and told them "Guess what, we are going to Disneyland!!!" We had a great time. But.... the first day my SD card wouldnt work and I lost all my pictures of Hawaii, So i cried and had to go to a photo shop at Disneyland to get a new card. I am sooooo bummed.

The moments you live for.....

Getting ready for the parade, my kids wanted to cuddle a little. So mommy got a picture.

Sulley...

Cayden does not like the spotlight like my other kids. So he was screaming behind the camera.

Wild Cats sing along........

O.K., this is where I started crying because my kids were chose to go up and participate in the High School Musical parade, their dream. Well Melodie's anyways.

Melodie and a friend

Everywhere we were Melodie made a new friend. The hotel swimming pool, in line to go on a ride and here in a bugs land.

Jedi Training Academy

Melodie and Avery were chosen out of the audience to participate in this fun Jedi training. They were so excited. Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries when it was Avery's turn to fight Darth Mal. Dont you hate that.

Melodie the Jedi Knight!!

Nemo's underwater adventure

This was the coolest ride and worth the 45 min wait. No fast passes on this ride.

Big thunder mountain railroad

Cayden loved this ride.

The Castle

My kids were so excited about everything and that is what made it all worth it.

California Screamin'......

This ride, by far, was my kids favorite. This was their last ride. That is them in the last car.

A for Avery!!

This is a traditional picture we take everytime we come to Disneyland.

Locks of Love

One of Melodie's goals was to grow her hair out and cut it and donate it to Locks of Love. It is a foundation that takes hair donations and makes wigs for kids with cancer. Melodie was so excited to do this. So a couple days ago we did it. I must say she looks so cute with her new do. Go Melodie!!

Our house

This is the side view. This is just the first story. When it is complete it will be 4000 sq feet. So pretty much 4 times bigger than any other house we have ever owned. Four kids will fit in there nicely.

Our house

Look at our new house. We are so excited!!! This is the back of the house. The hole is where the sliding glass door will go and the kitchen is behind that door.

Hawaii here we come........not!

This is me and Gaylene playing the waiting game. She was flying out to Utah the same day we were and the plane to Hawaii was delayed 8 and a half hours. That was a nightmare.

1st Day

Josh was obsessed with the coconuts. So we had to get a picture.

Polynesian Cultural Center

O.K. so I a ton of pictures of the PCC. I loved that place. We were able to go on a guided tour (thank you Monte and Kristi for the hook-up) It was an amazing place and I highly recommend it.

Polynesian Cultural Center

Josh was crowned chief of our tour group by our tour guide. He was from Fiji. He was awesome. He would tell us about all of the different cultures then he would say, "Everybody say WOW!" It was funny.

USS Missouri Pearl Harbor

Josh getting crazy on the machine gun.

Aloha Swapmeet

O.K. this was my favorite part of the trip....shopping. It was the ultimate in bargain hunting. I loved it. I don't think Josh was as excited about it, but he was a great sport.

Snorkeling

Josh and I went snorkeling and really enjoyed it. The waters in Hawaii are so clear.

Dinner at the Shore Bird

Janette Lively recommended this awesome place to eat. They bring you your meat raw and you cook it at a huge grill yourself. It was a lot of fun. The restaurant was right on Waikiki beach.

Dinner at the Shore Bird

Me stealing a kiss.....

Scuba Diving

As many of you know, Josh is a certified scuba diver. His dream is to be able to discover the wide open sea's with me. But I am afraid of water and a little bit claustrophobic. I knew that I needed to be brave and try it, but we found that after a few panic stricken tries, that it was not for me.....for now, says Josh.

Scuba Diving

That is a fake smile.

Scuba Diving

This is the instructor trying to calm me down. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful.

The temple.

The amazing fact is that this temple was the fifth temple ever built.

Oh we're going........

to the Hukilau.....

Hukilau Beach

A strole on Hukilau beach.

Chinaman's Hat

Josh and I did this a lot.

A little hike

This was a tree that had fallen over a trail.
